Editorial: LGBT. Are we being forced fed to accept this Movement?

This morning while at the Barbershop I was watching CNN and the reporter came on and begin to talk about the next segment that was coming after the commercial break which would be about Bullying and how it was affecting our kids in school.. So as the commercials began to come to an end and the first story ran and then the story about Bullying began, to my surprise it was actually talking the LGBT teens being bullied in school. Well you can imagine I felt a little hoodwinked, because the reporter made it seem that she was gonna report about school childen as a whole, not just one segment. Don't get me wrong, bullying of any kind is a bad thing and it shouldn't happen to any group of people whether black, white, straight, gay, etc. But I felt hoodwinked because I feel the reporter deliberatly left out some details in order to beef up viewership for the story. But as I said bullying of any kind and to anyone is wrong, so she should have just been straight with us. Now why am I asking are we being forced fed to accept this movement? Well in the past few months we have been bombarded with stories concerning the LGBT community and all it's issues. Everything from Gay Marriage to Don't ask Don't Tell, and now, bullying gay kids. Now before you read to much into this without reading the whole article and accuse me of hating Gays, I'm just saying that the reporter should have been more forth coming with her preview. Now because of my Christian beliefs I don't condone the gay lifestyle, but I do feel that as long as you live on this earth as a Human being you should be treated with the respect you deserve. Jesus did tell us to do unto others as we would have done unto us, also to love thy neighbor as we love ourselves, but he didn't give any specifications on what race, gender, or orientation that other or neighbor should be. But the fact still remains, the stories about the LGBT movement are getting to much over exposure. Now you would say, "well Charles you are not gay and you don't understand this is important to the LBGT cause." Well that is true in all and maybe I am being a little unreasonable on that end, but I just don't want to feel like I have to except something just because it's being blasted in front of my face all the time. It's just like watching one of those crazy infomercials and feeling obligated to buy something because they pitch it to you a hundred times before the show is over. Listen, this is somethings that should be discussed. and maybe I am not fully seeing the whole picture, but what I do see is society may be being forced to accept a lifestyle they are just not ready to embrace yet.  But if and when they are, I am sure they willl....

  1. the issue at large was students being bullied. it doesn't matter if the kid is gay, straight, tall, short, fat, skinny, etc. the issue is still mistreatment of an individual. i don't think you were mislead at all.

    PEACE,
