As I search the Internet for interesting stories to read or report, it seems that the story of the hour is about one thing and one thing only, Bishop Eddie Long. Sure you have your usual political dribble, but posted on almost every site is a headline about Pastor Long. An as you see this, it makes you ask yourself a number of questions about why the media seems to be so fascinated about the events unfolding with this story. Is it because they see a travesty on hand with accusations against a falsely accused man that could possibly destroy not only his and his family's lives, but also disrupt the lives of those that have followed his ministry, and they want to assist in proving him innocent? Or, is it that they have an opportunity to report and assist in bringing down another so-called hypocritical preacher? Whatever their reasoning is, they have sure been on the task. I have to admit that I like Bishop Long and commend him on all the work he has done in and around Lithonia, GA. but I am really on the fence about the allegations surrounding him because number one, I would hate to think that as all the years have gone by and this Man of God has been preaching in the pulpit that secretly behind closed doors he has been living a double life. At the same time, number two, as all of the story has not fully come to light I stand in support of my fellow Christian Brother and pray that the truth will come out and prove him innocent and show the world how the enemy comes against those that stand for righteousness. Let me also add that it is true he is human and he does make mistakes, as he said in his address to his church this morning, "I am not Perfect" (see link below).... it still doesn't excuse him of commiting this offense if found to be so. An if this is proven to be one of his mistakes, may God forgive him and so do we. That being said, he vowed also that he will not fight this in the media, but he will fight this in the courts. All I can say is, only God can judge him and the courts can exonerate him. So as he fights this battle to prove himself innocent, Let Justice Prevail....
