How To Build a Better Business: Post 3
Ok the next step in Building a Better Business is Presence, Atmosphere, Looks, Appearance, Attitude. Whenever someone comes to your business establishment you want to make sure that everything about your business is inviting as far as the look of the building, the cleanliness of your business surroundings and that even the inside of your business makes me feel at home. The outside first, should be clean and well manicured. If grass surrounds your building, make sure the landscaping is taken care of properly. Now I know you want your building to display everything you have to offer and you may want lots of paint and bright colors as far as logo and things of that sort, but please know when enough is too much. Remember you are professionals and you are dealing with adults, not children when you paint your business so try to keep the colors simple and inviting. And if your establishment has a parking lot, please, get out there and sweep the parking lot as often as you can, the one thing I don't like personally is driving up and seeing a trashy parking lot. To me it shows that the owners or tenants of the building don't care about appearance and to some it denotes that you can care less if you come or not. Then the Inside of your Business. Make sure first everything is organized, make it look like you know what you are doing and everthing is running like a well oiled machine. You don't want patrons to think that they are just another file on top of the pile and that there is no order in with your business and it is all chaos. Then make sure its clean inside as well as outside. You don't want folks to come in and see trash everywhere, garbage cans overflowing, having to come in and seeing feeling like you are in a not so well established business is not a good feeling. Then above all make sure that your attitude as well as your employee's attitude is warm and inviting. One, there should be no division among everyone that works together in your business, you all should be on the same page. Two, treat your customers/clients with respect, remember even though you are providing a service for them, they are the ones that you obtain your money from. Remember one thing if you don't remember anything else, the people that you provide a service for will always provide a great reward for you if you make them feel at home and want to frequent your business. You just have to make sure that you are doing what you are doing to make it all happen.
