The words that were being spoken in the songs that I was hearing seem to echo the same sentiment and tone of all of them buying Keys of Cocaine and distributing them (thus hurting their black community) and making Millions. Degrading our black woman calling them Bitches and Hos, and spreading this as a message that this as an ok lifestyle to have. It used to be a time back in the day when Real Rappers Dressed and looked the part, in the 80's that is, God knows in the 70s we didn't know if they were gonna rap or perform disco...but i digress. Anyways rappers looked like rappers whether it were the males or the females. Now when you look at the rappers today you don't know if they about to bust out with a rhyme or sing YMCA, you know what I mean. They wearing skinny jeans and tights, the females look like clowns in a show, and Lord knows Rick Ross need to keep his shirt on and lets not talk about the pretty boys in rap or those that wanna be players looking like they haven't showered in weeks. To me, bring back the Adidas, the Jackets, the Fades and the lyrics that talked about partying, having a good time or destroying your opponenet on the mic with your lyrical skills and be gone with the selling drugs, riding in cars you know you don't own (stunting) and being with woman that are only with you because you a supposed to be star. Knowing that if you were Joe Blow on the street they wouldn't give you the time of day let alone look your way.
Now, many of you that read this may not agree with this and thats fine, I want to hear your opinions. But as for me I'm no rap expert but I do know good music and lyrics when I hear them and that junk they spittin today ain't good. Bring Back Run DMC, Queen Latifah, Sugar Hill Gang, Tribe Called Quest, and 2Pac....the rest of yall out today can go kick rocks. I long for the days when a good old school rapper comes back and makes a good album for us to just groove to, until then there is always Back Spin on Satalite Radio..Y'all Stay Loose....Charles....
