As the white smoke filled the air from the chimney of the Sistine Chapel, and the bells rang in St. Peter's Basilica it signaled to the world that the Catholic Faith has elected a New Leader.
Born Jorge Mario Bergoglio from Argentina, the now 76 year old Cardinal has been elected to lead over 1 Billion Catholics around the world in the place of Pope Benedict XVI. And today as Cardinal Bergoglio takes the helm of the Catholic Faith, his reign will go down in history as one of he being the first Jesuit and first Non-European Pope. Also, as he takes his command, his name will mark a first in the history of Popes as he will now be known in his papalcy as Francis I.
